Order My Steps

Towers of Excellence works with Order My Steps (OMS) to support our high schoolers as they transition through their high school years into college. OMS was founded in 2018 to promote the abilities of young scholars through the transcendent learning experience of STEPS:

This program is designed to elevate students to reach their maximum potential for educational and occupational success.

Scholastic Achievement

Scholastic Achievement is the foundational pillar of the S.T.E.P.S. model. OMS focuses on creating a path for each student to maximize academic success. Scholars are required to maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average throughout high school while participating in at least one afterschool activity and volunteering within their community. All scholars will attend an in-state and out-of-state college tour. Scholars meeting the expectations will receive $500 towards tuition and other college expenses.

Technological Advancement

STEM based education has been a proven path to helping students develop and enhance critical thinking, foster ingenuity, unlock creativity, build useful technical skills and encourage effective problem solving strategies. Students will engage in a variety of activities designed to stimulate their knowledge and experience in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Economic Empowerment

Financial literacy is essential to equip students in the effective management of money. Understanding basic money matters will help each make sound decisions about their finances now and in the future.

Students will engage in at least two financial literacy sessions in preparation for college.

• Session 1: Money Matters: Spending & Saving

• Session 2: Financing Post-Secondary Education.

Professional Readiness

Professional readiness teaches students how to prepare for career success and builds a standard of best practices in the workplace. Students will engage in mock interviews with professionals and experience a corporate atmosphere.

Social-Emotional Awareness

Social-Emotional Awareness is the ability to identify, develop and enhance individuality and effectively communicate that to others. Students will focus on self-development of the mind, body, and spirit through a variety of activities. For more support, scholars will also have access to a licensed clinical social worker.
